# DAO Governance

The **DAO Governance** system is the heart of WaveSwaps decentralized ecosystem, empowering the community to make impactful decisions while fostering active participation. Through the use of **DAO tokens**, users gain voting power and proportional ownership in the **WSHARE Governance Pool**, driving transparency, fairness, and shared success.

***

**Role of DAO Tokens in Governance**

DAO tokens are integral to the governance model, offering users:

1. **Voting Power:** Each DAO token represents a vote, giving users the ability to participate in decision-making. Voting ensures the community collectively shapes the future of WaveSwaps and its features.
2. **Proposals and Voting:**
   * **Standard Voting Model:** Each voter locks a fixed amount of DAO tokens to cast their vote.
   * **Weighted Voting Model:** Users can lock additional DAO tokens to increase their voting power, reflecting their level of interest and investment in the proposal.
   * **Proposal Lifecycle:** Proposals remain active for **72 hours**. At the end of this period, the DAO tokens locked by the proposers and voters are **returned with an additional 20% incentive** to encourage participation.
3. **Flagging Offensive Proposals:** To maintain integrity, all proposals include an option to **flag offensive or malicious content**. Flagged proposals are reviewed, and if deemed inappropriate, are automatically removed or closed through smart contracts.

**Example of Flagging Process:**

* A proposal is flagged by multiple users for violating community standards or containing offensive content.
* The smart contract tallies the flags. If the number exceeds a predefined threshold, the proposal is automatically marked and closed.
* Once reviewed, flagged proposals may be closed, and the locked DAO tokens blocked.

***

**Earning DAO Tokens**

DAO tokens are not limited to governance activities; they can also be earned by engaging with the ecosystem:

* **Liquidity Node Engines:** By utilizing the WaveSwaps Liquidity Engines, users can earn additional DAO tokens while contributing to the ecosystem’s stability by using the feature.

**Profit Centres and WSHARE Governance Pool**

The ecosystem’s revenue streams—called **Profit Centres**—span across various features of **GetonGlobal** and **WaveSwaps**, generating fees that sustain the platform. These fees are distributed through the **WSHARE Governance Pool**, ensuring fair and proportional rewards for DAO participants.

1. **50% Initial WSHARE Allocation:** Half of the **WSHARE supply** is **initially distributed to eligible ecosystem supporters**, granting them decision-making rights and ownership stakes. These holding wallets establish a **network of liquidity providers** on decentralized exchanges (DEX).
   * These holders can propose how accumulated incomes from profit centres should be utilized—either **withdrawn as rewards** or **added to DEX liquidity pools**.
   * This initial allocation ensures that the **ecosystem is governed effectively**, with participants actively managing and enhancing liquidity.
2. **49% WSHARE Allocation for GetonGlobal DAO:** The **GetonGlobal DAO Community**, comprising users who import their token holdings, owns **49% of the total WSHARE supply**. This represents a significant stake, allowing the community to propose and vote on the use of accumulated fees.
3. **Fee Management and Distribution:**
   * Until changes are proposed and approved, fees collected in native network currencies or other tokens are **transparently injected into the DAO liquidity pool**.
   * This ensures the ecosystem's **long-term stability** while providing tangible benefits to all participants.
4. **Starting Price and Public Sale:** The **starting price of 1 WSHARE is 10,000 USDC**, and sales are already open to the public. This model offers **effective ownership of the entire ecosystem**, providing decision-making rights and revenue-sharing opportunities for all stakeholders.

**Benefits of DAO Governance**

Participating in DAO governance offers:

* **Revenue Sharing:** DAO token holders receive proportional rewards from the WSHARE Governance Pool based on their activity and engagement.
* **Ecosystem Influence:** Propose and vote on key changes, ensuring the platform evolves in alignment with community interests.
* **Enhanced Stability:** By collectively deciding how to manage fees and liquidity, users help secure the platform’s future for all participants.
* **Incentives for Activity:** Voting and proposal participation are rewarded with **20% additional DAO tokens**, promoting consistent engagement.
